Since 1790, the best official source of information on the collective insanity of the human race has been patent documents. Each section following contains patents from a particular historical era, appropriate to the craziness therein. I am still in the process of paging through the vast collection compiled over the past 200 years, so new patents will be included for each era as soon as I can convert them.
